Dear Residents of New Albany,
My name is Donald Blevins Sr., a proud resident of New Albany, where I have grown up, worked, and raised two generations of my family for 57 years. After much prayer, reflection, and discussion with my family and community, I am excited to announce my candidacy for Mayor of our great city of New Albany in the 2027 election.
I have experience working for the City of New Albany. I have more than 20 years of experience with the Street Department, Sanitation, Sewer, Flood Control, and Storm Water Department, and as an auxiliary Police Officer. I know the ins and outs of how this city operates. I have also served as Union President of City Operations (AFSCME) for 8 years and as a City Councilman-at-Large. I am the founder of Blevins Sanitation INC, and my twin brother and I established the Living Waters House of Prayer back in 1986, where I have been a volunteer pastor for 39 years.
With over three decades of business experience, giving back to my community, and creating jobs in Southern Indiana, I can’t think of a better way to continue serving my city than to take on the job of Mayor of New Albany.
I’m reaching out to ask for your support. This is going to be a long, hard campaign. Campaigns take volunteers and funding, and I cannot do it without your support.
